Primare PRE35 Preamplifier

The Primare PRE35 is a high-performance stereo preamplifier designed to form the control centre of a premium separates-based HiFi system. Featuring fully balanced analogue preamplification circuitry, comprehensive XLR and RCA connectivity and a modular architecture, the PRE35 can be partnered with a dedicated stereo power amplifier to create a flexible high-end music system.

Primare has designed the PRE35 around a carefully optimised fully balanced analogue signal path, using a four-layer main board to minimise signal-path length and help achieve exceptionally low noise and distortion. Two pairs of balanced XLR inputs and three pairs of RCA inputs accommodate a wide range of analogue source components, while balanced and unbalanced preamplifier outputs provide flexible connectivity with compatible power amplifiers.

A major advantage of the PRE35 is its modular design. The standard model operates as a dedicated analogue preamplifier, but Primare's DM36 digital-to-analogue converter module can be added to introduce digital connectivity, while the SM35 Prisma network player module can further expand the system with Primare's network streaming platform. This allows the PRE35 to evolve as the requirements of a HiFi system change without replacing the core preamplifier.

With a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz ±0.1dB, low distortion and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 100dB, the PRE35 is engineered for transparent control of high-quality music sources. RS232, IR and 12V trigger connectivity also make it straightforward to integrate with other Primare components and compatible control systems.
