Primare DD15 CD Transport

The Primare DD15 is a compact high-end CD transport designed for listeners who want to integrate their CD collection into a premium digital HiFi system. Using a dedicated low-resonance slot-loading disc mechanism and low-noise digital output circuitry, the DD15 focuses entirely on accurately reading Compact Discs and delivering the digital audio signal to an external DAC or compatible amplifier.

At the heart of the DD15 is a dedicated Philips CDM-M10 mechanism, housed within Primare's compact 15 Series chassis. Unlike a conventional CD player, the DD15 does not contain a digital-to-analogue converter or analogue audio outputs. Instead, the digital signal is sent directly through either coaxial RCA or optical Toslink, allowing the DAC within a compatible amplifier, preamplifier or standalone converter to handle digital-to-analogue conversion.

The DD15's compact dimensions make it a natural partner for Primare's 15 Series components, including the I15 and SC15 Prisma, while its standard digital outputs allow it to be integrated into a much wider range of HiFi systems. The slot-loading mechanism also contributes to the DD15's clean Scandinavian appearance, with straightforward front-panel controls for everyday CD playback.

System integration is supported through RS232, IR input/output and 12V trigger input/output, allowing the DD15 to operate alongside other Primare components and compatible control systems. Supplied with Primare's C25 system remote, the DD15 CD Transport provides a focused solution for high-quality physical CD playback within a modern digital HiFi system.
