The KEF Reference 5 Meta is the flagship three-way floorstanding speaker in KEF's Reference Series, engineered for uncompromising high-end Hi-Fi performance. Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Maidstone, Kent, the Reference 5 Meta combines exceptional scale, accuracy and dynamic capability with KEF's most advanced acoustic technologies. At the heart of the Reference 5 Meta is KEF's 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). The array combines a 125mm aluminium midrange cone with a centrally positioned 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, allowing sound to radiate more evenly throughout the listening space. MAT™ absorbs 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter, helping reduce distortion and reveal finer detail, while Uni-Q® provides precise imaging and a wider, more consistent listening area.

Low frequencies are handled by four 165mm (6.5-inch) aluminium bass drivers, giving the Reference 5 Meta exceptional authority, control and depth. Typical in-room bass response extends down to an impressive 25Hz, allowing the speaker to reproduce deep low frequencies with substantial impact while integrating seamlessly with the midrange and treble. KEF's Flexible Port Technology allows bass performance to be fine-tuned for different rooms and speaker positions, while Shadow Flare, computer-modelled cabinet construction and Constrained Layer Damping help minimise diffraction and unwanted cabinet vibration.

With a 40Hz–35kHz frequency response, 88dB sensitivity, maximum output of 116dB and recommended amplifier power of 50–400W, the KEF Reference 5 Meta is designed to form the centrepiece of a truly high-end Hi-Fi system.
