The KEF Reference 3 Meta is a high-end three-way floorstanding speaker engineered for exceptional clarity, scale and accuracy in premium Hi-Fi systems. Handcrafted at KEF's home in Maidstone, Kent, the Reference 3 Meta combines decades of British loudspeaker engineering with some of KEF's most advanced acoustic technologies. Designed for discerning listeners and dedicated listening spaces, it delivers a wide, precisely defined soundstage with the dynamics and low-frequency authority expected from a reference-class floorstanding loudspeaker.

At the heart of the Reference 3 Meta is KEF's 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). The array combines a 125mm aluminium midrange cone with a centrally positioned 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, allowing the two drivers to behave more like a single point source and disperse sound evenly throughout the room. MAT™ is engineered to absorb 99% of unwanted sound radiating from the rear of the tweeter, helping reduce distortion and reveal finer musical detail with exceptional naturalness and precision.

Low frequencies are handled by two 165mm (6.5-inch) aluminium bass drivers, giving the Reference 3 Meta impressive depth, control and dynamic impact. KEF's Flexible Port Technology allows the bass response to be fine-tuned for different room sizes and speaker positions, while the carefully engineered cabinet incorporates Shadow Flare, finite element analysis and Constrained Layer Damping to minimise unwanted diffraction and cabinet vibration. The result is powerful, articulate bass that integrates seamlessly with the detailed midrange and treble.

With a typical in-room bass response extending to 28Hz, a maximum output of 113.5dB and recommended amplifier power of 50–300W, the KEF Reference 3 Meta is built for serious two-channel listening.
