The KEF R2 Meta is a premium three-way centre channel speaker designed to deliver clear dialogue, precise imaging and powerful cinematic sound in high-performance home cinema and surround sound systems. As part of KEF's acclaimed R Series, the R2 Meta combines technology derived from KEF's flagship Reference range with a compact closed-box design, making it an excellent choice for premium home cinemas where performance and placement flexibility are equally important.

At the heart of the R2 Meta is KEF's 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). A 125mm aluminium midrange driver and centrally positioned 25mm vented aluminium dome tweeter act as a single point source, helping distribute sound more evenly throughout the room. This gives dialogue, vocals and effects excellent clarity across a wider seating area, while MAT™ absorbs 99% of unwanted sound from behind the tweeter to reduce distortion and produce a cleaner, more natural presentation.

The Uni-Q® array is flanked by two 130mm (5.25-inch) hybrid aluminium bass drivers, providing controlled low-frequency performance and the dynamic impact required for movie soundtracks. Unlike the bass-reflex models within the R Series, the R2 Meta uses a three-way closed-box design, making it easier to integrate into home cinema furniture or position closer to a wall while maintaining accurate, controlled performance. With typical in-room bass response reaching 43Hz, it delivers impressive depth from a relatively compact centre speaker.

With 87dB sensitivity, a maximum output of 110dB and recommended amplifier power of 15–200W, the KEF R2 Meta is an ideal centre channel for serious home cinema systems.
