Emotiva XPA-2 Gen3 Two-Channel Power Amplifier

The Emotiva XPA-2 Gen3 is a high-performance two-channel audiophile power amplifier designed for premium stereo, 2.1-channel and home cinema systems. Delivering 300W per channel into 8 Ohms and 490W per channel into 4 Ohms with both channels driven, the XPA-2 Gen3 provides substantial power and dynamic headroom for demanding bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.

Built around Emotiva's XPA Gen3 modular amplifier platform, the XPA-2 uses two independent high-powered single-channel amplifier modules. Each features a fully discrete, dual-differential, high-current Class A/B output stage with a short signal path, supported by a high-efficiency switch-mode power supply and Emotiva's Optimized Class H power supply topology. The result is powerful, controlled amplification designed to maintain clarity and composure as listening levels and speaker demands increase.

The XPA-2 Gen3 is equally suited to a dedicated stereo HiFi system or as an upgrade for the main left and right speakers in a home cinema. It can be connected to a stereo preamplifier, AV processor or compatible AV receiver with pre-outs, making it a flexible choice for systems where high-quality two-channel amplification is a priority. Its modular chassis also leaves five additional module slots available, allowing the amplifier to be expanded or reconfigured by Emotiva or an authorised Emotiva service representative as the system develops.

Each channel provides independently selectable balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, alongside audiophile-grade gold-plated five-way speaker binding posts. A 12V trigger input and output simplify integration with compatible system components, while microprocessor-controlled protection continuously monitors the amplifier for excessive temperature, short circuits, ground faults and other common fault conditions.
